Privacy Policy

Suggefy (“we”, “us”) operates this recommendation service for movies, series and books. For any privacy question, email suggefy@gmail.com and we’ll get back to you.

Information you give us: if you create an account, your email address and a password. The password is stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see it. If you save titles, we store your watchlist.

Information collected automatically: anonymous usage events, such as which trailers you play, which “watch” or “buy” links you click, and when you regenerate results — together with the page address and your chosen language. We do not collect your name or precise location.

Stored on your device: your watchlist, the titles you’ve recently been shown, and your preferences live in your browser’s local storage so results stay fresh and personal. This information stays on your device unless you sign in to sync it.

We use this information to give and improve your recommendations, remember your list across visits, understand which features people find useful, and keep the service secure and working.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (for optional analytics, where consent is required); our legitimate interests (improving and securing the service); and performance of a contract (running your account when you create one). You can withdraw consent at any time.

We share only what each provider needs to run the service: TMDB and Google Books (to fetch film, series and book data), Amazon (affiliate links — see our Cookie Policy), Supabase (our database and authentication host), and optional privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible), which is cookieless and does not track you across sites.

We never sell your data to anyone.

Some of our providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Account information is kept for as long as your account is active. Usage events are retained in aggregate to understand trends. Information stored on your device stays until you clear your browser’s storage or delete your watchlist.

You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. Email suggefy@gmail.com and we’ll respond. If you’re in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Suggefy is not directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we’ll remove it.

If we make material changes, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date above.
